About Wendy
Wendy Axelrod has a 35-year track record of helping organizations develop their leaders. and professionals. She is a recognized expert in Talent Development who has designed and implemented leadership development programs, coaching programs, mentoring processes, and succession management systems.
Wendy has supported thousands of leaders in one-on-one coaching engagements, workshops, and coaching that complements year-long leadership development. She works face-to-face, virtually, and on-site in the US, Asia, South America and Europe. Her coaching clients are mid to upper level leaders, and high potential professionals.
As a former executive for a Fortune 100 company leading multiple functions, she retooled the corporate university into a driver of business growth and change, and led a 3-year corporate-wide transformation process which spurred many new cultural and business practices and resulted in significant documented bottom-line gains.
She is also an author and speaks both in the US and abroad with particular expertise in helping leaders and mentors become exceptional at growing the talent of others. Her books are: “Make Talent Your Business: How Exceptional Managers Develop People While Getting Results” (co-authored with Jeannie Coyle) and “10 Steps to Successful Mentoring”. Her works have appeared in SmartBriefs on Leadership; AMA’s Moving Ahead, Leader to Leader, and Leadership Excellence; The Conference Board’s Human Capital Exchange; SHRM’s HR People +Strategy; and European journals. Wendy speaks at conferences for organizations including the Association for Talent Development, The Conference Board, Human Resource Planning Society, The Hudson Institute of Coaching, and HR Summit Asia, as well as corporate events.
Wendy is the volunteer creator and moving force behind the Philadelphia region’s renowned Mentoring Program for Early-in-Career HR Professionals, begun in 2002. She also consults with companies to build and strengthen their mentoring programs as a key component of their Talent Development strategies.
Wendy holds a Ph.D. in Organizational-Industrial Psychology and has completed Columbia University’s Advance Program in HR Management. As a coach she is certified as a Conversational Intelligence® For Coaches, is a Hay Group Executive Coach, and is also certified in dozens of executive coaching and organization development tools.

Wendy is an avid volunteer with Leadership and Director roles on community boards. Special among them are her roles as President of the Philadelphia People and Strategy Society (PSPS), and membership in Rotary International through which she volunteers for 2-week medical missions in third world countries. Wendy is the recipient of "Rotarian of the Year" from her local Club, for 2019-2020
Wendy and her husband Andy live outside Philadelphia. They love the outdoors ….kayaking, hiking, camping.
